Notes for Contribution

In order to strengthen the construction of the Journal, improve the academic level and social benefits, and standardize the publication process of the Journal, the publication ethics of Journal of Nuclear Agricultural Sciences are hereby formulated in accordance with the Several Opinions on Further Strengthening the Construction of Scientific Research Integrity, CY/T174-2019 Academic Publishing Specification — Definition of Academic Misconduct for Journals, and Code of Ethics for Publishing Science and Technology Journals, as well as the ethical guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICJME), combined with the actual situation of the Journal.

I. Moral expectations

(I) Author's duties

1. Authors shall submit the original manuscript, and academic misconduct such as plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, multiple submissions, and overlapping publications are strictly prohibited. Authors shall specify the artificial intelligence (if used) in the process of writing at the time of submission.

2. Authors shall identify all sources of data in the research and, if necessary, provide original data and literature that has an impact on the research. Authors are recommended to provide the original results in the form of attachments at the time of submission, such as the original pictures of the Western Blot.

3. Authors shall provide the real title, working institution, educational background, research experience, and other information. All authors shall have no objection to attribution and order, and read through the manuscript. Authors are limited to those who have made outstanding contributions to the topic selection, test design, data acquisition and analysis, writing, and review, excluding those who have not made substantial contributions. Additionally, the author shall not be listed without the consent of others. Other participators who have made auxiliary contributions to the manuscript may be named in the acknowledgment with their consent.

4. Authors shall confirm that the manuscript does not contain any state secrets, infringement related to intellectual property rights, or interest disputes.

5. Before publication, authors shall check the manuscript carefully and thoroughly to ensure its accuracy. After publication, if any major problems are found, authors shall contact the Office in time for correction or withdrawal.

6. Authors shall confirm that the manuscript complies with the research ethics and provide an ethics certificate if necessary.

(II) Reviewer's duties

1. Reviewers shall give a fair evaluation of the scientific value, originality, and quality of the manuscript, as well as its relevance to the coverage and purpose of the Journal and clearly point out the actual defects and academic misconduct found in the manuscript.

2. Reviewers shall make a timely review and inform the editor if they cannot complete the review due to time conflicts or out of their specialization.

3. Reviewers shall recuse themselves from manuscripts with conflicts of interest.

4. Reviewers shall keep confidential the manuscript, and shall not share, use, or disclose the contents of the reviewed manuscript in any form.

(III) Editor's duties

1. The editor/editorial board shall treat authors, reviewers, and members of the editorial board in an objective and fair manner.

2. The editor/editorial board shall process all manuscripts in time and decide on acceptance or rejection to ensure the timeliness of manuscripts.

3. The editor/editorial board shall deal with each manuscript objectively and impartially, and make the decision based on the scientificity, innovation, and readability of the manuscript and its relevance to the coverage of the Journal, without prejudice to the author's working institution, gender, professional title, and academic honor. The processing requirements for supplements and columns shall be the same as for ordinary manuscripts.

4. For external review, editors shall send the manuscript to experts in the relevant research interests for double-blind peer review. For the review experts recommended by the author, editors shall carefully check whether their basic information is accurate, whether their academic background is consistent with the research background, and whether there is a conflict of interest with the author. For review experts reasonably required for recusal by the author, the author's choice shall prevail. The editor/editorial board shall not interfere with the reviewers, or deny or distort the review opinions of the reviewers without reason.

5. The editor/editorial board shall abide by the confidentiality principle to keep all unpublished manuscripts and the personal information of authors and reviewers strictly confidential.

6. The editor/editorial board shall avoid selecting experts who have a conflict of interest with the author to review his/her manuscript or sending manuscripts that conflict with their interests for review.

7. The editor/editorial board shall establish a record for all submitted manuscripts and manage the (three reviews and three proofreading) processing record archiving and preservation of all published manuscripts.

8. For dissenting manuscripts, the editor/editorial board shall treat them in a timely and prudent manner and issue corrective information or withdraw the manuscript when necessary.

II. Disposal of manuscripts identified as academic misconduct

1. The Office shall promptly notify the author of the manuscript ultimately identified as academic misconduct and allow the author to explain and defend the issue before making a decision.

2. If the manuscript has been accepted but not officially published, the Office shall notify the author that the manuscript will be rejected directly in the manuscript processing process of the journal website, order the author to pay the manuscript review fee that has been incurred, and give criticism and warning to the author.

3. If the manuscript has been officially published, the Office shall notify the author in written form, cancel the acceptance of the manuscript, and order the author to return the contribution fee. If the reputation or other losses are caused to the Journal, the Journal will reserve the right to pursue compensation.

4. For the author in serious circumstances, the office will publish the author's name and working institution and the notice of withdrawal of the manuscript in the journal at an appropriate time, and inform the author's working institution and other scientific and technological journals in the field.

5. The Journal will not accept any manuscripts written by the first author or corresponding author who has serious plagiarism or multiple submissions within 5 years.

6. If the author has objections to the recognition and processing results of the Journal, he or she can submit a written application for review to the Office within 7 working days from the date of receiving the notice (the journal will not accept the overdue application). Then, the Office is responsible for inviting experts to review the paper again, giving final opinions, and notifying the author of the result within 30 working days.

III. Errors and corrections

1. After publication, if there is any error in the manuscript, the author shall promptly put forward the correction in writing to the Office. In case of serious errors, the Office has the right to retract the manuscript. Additionally, if the error does not change the meaning of the results, interpretation, and conclusions of the manuscript, a correction may be published as appropriate, including the full-text error caused by a data entry error or calculation error. If the error is serious enough to make the results and conclusions of the manuscript unreliable, the manuscript will be retracted.

2. Corrections and retractions shall be published in the electronic journal in a timely manner to reduce adverse effects. Corrected or retracted manuscripts shall be clearly identified, including the title, author, date, content, and reason for the change in the notice.

3. The Office shall file the original version of the manuscript before change.
